Will Downing

Will is a wildland fire professional with 20 years of experience spanning operational fire management, fire ecology research, and risk modeling. At Pyrologix, Will supervises a team of spatial wildfire analysts. Will has a deep fire management background that includes many years as a Hotshot, rappeller, and smokejumper. Prior to joining Pyrologix, he worked for the USFS Enterprise Program where he provided environmental analysis, hazard modeling, and risk assessment products to USFS units across the country. Will also spent several years as a faculty researcher at Oregon State University, where he earned his M.S. in fire ecology.
