About the Role

The HR Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing processes to manage the complete employee life cycle from job offer to end of employee relationship. Using the tools and resources available from our domestic and international PEO’s, plus tapping into best practices learned from previous roles, nurture the work environment to support the workforce needed for Vibrant Planet’s mission.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop a formal onboarding and orientation process for new employees
  • Manage all data and records on performance and compensation to meet current labor laws
  • Administrative tasks with our domestic (Insperity) and global (Papaya Global) PEO’s for time keeping, leave administration, and adding employees in new states
  • Create and administer an employee review process
  • Manage the employee onboarding process, including collecting and processing new hire paperwork, scheduling orientation, and providing new employees with company information
  • Providing company policies and benefit information to job candidates as requested
  • Maintain employee records, including personnel files, performance reviews, and training records
  • Conduct employee training, such as new employee orientation, safety training, and compliance training
  • Respond to employee inquiries, such as questions about benefits, policies, and procedures
  • Work with the COO and FinOps Manager to develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Provide HR metrics to support the leadership team
  • Share payroll processing responsibilities with alternate
  • Promote positive work culture and initiate programs to help align a fully remote workforce spread across the United States and New Zealand
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in human resources, preferably in an administrative or support role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with working a fully remote job and have a workspace with sufficient internet speeds and privacy for holding confidential meetings
  • Must be in the US and work Pacific or Mountain time zone hours
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with a PEO
  • Experience with EEO and other reporting requirements
  • Experience with training and development
Compensation
  • $70,000 - $80,000 (dependent upon experience)
