We are a team of leaders in science, forestry, policy, and tech, building a cloud-based, data-driven platform to increase the pace and scale of forest restoration and reduce catastrophic wildfire, tree mortality, forest degradation, and deforestation. Our current software modernizes land management planning and monitoring with AI-driven data development, user friendly scenario building, decision support, forest resilience trends and treatment outcome detection. The system quantifies potential and actual treatment benefits, helping to grow markets for ecosystem services (carbon, water, biodiversity, sustainable forest-derived products). 

Our initial platform (launched in September 2021) is focused on temperate, “fire adapted” landscapes in California and the Western US. However our mission is global; our roadmap expands into other geographies and forest types beyond North America.

Driven by our sense of urgency to protect vital forests and the services they provide, we use our expertise to build sophisticated, AI/ML-driven, user friendly products to democratize the use of data and accelerate the process of stabilizing and restoring our forests.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a dynamic, articulate and passionate individual who will bring an enthusiastic and tactical approach to growing our impact as a public benefit corporation. As an Account Executive at Vibrant Planet, you will be pivotal in cultivating and strengthening new relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders who share our commitment to community risk reduction, ecological restoration and sustainability. Your mission will involve harnessing your expertise in communications and natural resource management to foster strategic connections, advance our regenerative economy vision, and contribute to our rapid expansion.

  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and qualifying to managing and closing new sales. Leverage your consultative approach to forge relationships with senior leadership and relevant stakeholders to demonstrate Vibrant Planet’s value.

  • Drive deal closure within targeted accounts, creating mutual value for clients and Vibrant Planet.

  • Conduct extensive background research and regular outreach to potential clients.

  • Attend industry events and trade shows, traveling to meet prospects across the US. Expect to travel every month.

  • Maintain meticulous sales hygiene by recording accurate deal information, next steps, probabilities, and communications within our sales CRM, HubSpot.

  • Conduct compelling product demonstrations and business cases for prospects and qualified leads.

  • Collaborate closely with our sales leadership, customer success, marketing, operations, product, and project management teams to ensure successful client engagement.

  • As an early member to the impact team, you will help shape process and sales playbooks to support a scaling business.

  • Bachelor’s degree (Bachelors in NRM, ES, or related field and/or Master’s degree a plus).

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated expertise in sales, with a focus on enterprise software / SaaS solutions. (Business to Government sales experience preferred)

  • Proven track record of managing full sales cycles, from initial contact to deal closure.

  • Experience selling and/or communicating the value propositions of a highly technical product.

  • Experience in startup environments, particularly VC-backed companies in Series A or B stages, with an understanding and eagerness to wear multiple hats, fail fast and learn quickly, and an enthusiasm for operating in ambiguity. 

  • Willingness to travel regularly for client engagement, professional development, and conference/event opportunities.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills within a fast-paced environment, with a profound ability to listen and digest complex information.

  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to seeking feedback and collaboration.

  • Proficiency in working within structured sales processes and opportunity qualification frameworks.

  • Strong understanding of government sales or similar industries, with experience in selling to public agencies being a significant advantage.

Duty Requirements:
  • Full time, year-round employment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25% time.

  • This is a virtual position with an operational independent/home office with sufficient internet speeds.


$140k - $180k On Target Earnings (based on experience)
